A nicely crafted and detailed Ma’at feather of a larger statuette, probably originating from the double feathered crown of Osiris.
The feather represents Ma’at and was the ancient Egyptian concept of truth, balance, order, harmony, law, morality, and justice.
Date: Late Period, 26th to 30th Dynasties. 664-332 B.C.
Material: Bronze
Height: 5.5 cm (without stand)

Provenance: Private collection of Dutch painter Alma Tadema, collected between 1956-1962
